The Intelligence Bureau (Ministry of Home Affairs), Government of India, has released the official notification for IB MTS (General) Exam 2025. A total of 362 vacancies have been announced across various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs) in India.
Eligible Indian citizens can apply online from 22 November 2025 to 14 December 2025 through the MHA or NCS portal.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
As per the notification:
- Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized board.
- Domicile Certificate of the state for which the candidate is applying.
Note: Final result must be declared on or before 14 December 2025.
Age Limit (as on 14 December 2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
Age Relaxation
- SC / ST: +5 years
- OBC: +3 years
- Departmental candidates: Up to 40 years
- Widows/Divorced women: UR – 35 yrs, OBC – 38 yrs, SC/ST – 40 yrs
- Ex-servicemen: As per Govt rules
- PwBD: UR – +10 yrs, OBC – +13 yrs, SC/ST – +15 yrs
Salary – IB MTS (General)
- Pay Matrix: Level-1 (₹18,000 – 56,900)
- Special Security Allowance: 20% of basic pay
- Holiday Duty Compensation: Up to 30 days (cash)

Selection Process
The IB MTS selection process consists of two stages:
1. Tier-I (Online Objective Exam)
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Negative Marking: ¼ per wrong answer
- Subjects:
- General Awareness – 40 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude – 20 marks
- Numerical/Logical Reasoning – 20 marks
- English Language – 20 marks
Cut-off (Expected Minimum):
- UR – 30
- OBC – 28
- SC/ST – 25
- EWS – 30
2. Tier-II (Descriptive Test)
- Marks: 50
- Qualifying Marks: 20
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Topics: Basic English, Grammar, Comprehension, Paragraph writing (150 words)
Final Merit
Based on Tier-I marks only, subject to qualifying Tier-II.

- Login again and fill the Step-II Application Form.
